Anne
of Green Gables tells the adventurous tale
of Anne Shirley. She is a red-haired, freckled orphan
who is mistakenly sent to live with an elderly bachelor,
Matthew Cuthbert and his prim, spinster sister, Marilla,
in the fictional town of Avonlea, Prince Edward Island,
Canada. Her wild imagination, incessant talking and
fiery temper ensure that she is the centre of a series
of entertaining adventures. As she matures, nurtured
by the love and discipline of Marilla and Matthew, she
develops into an intelligent and independent young woman
who harnesses her imagination constructively. Other
important characters include her best friend, Diana
Barry, classmate rival and eventually love interest,
Gilbert Blythe, and town gossip, Rachael Lynde.
This wonderful story is being cast by MysticArt Casting
for the Focus On The Family Radio Theatre. This eight

Radio Theatre programming.
Focus on the Family is a non-profit organization based
out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Part of their work
is to re-introduce radio drama to the US audience. Because
they believe in the power of story as part of their
overarching effort in helping families, Radio Theatre
dramatizes classic tales, such as A Christmas Carol
or Les Miserables or The Secret Garden or C S Lewis'
Chronicles of Narnia, which are first and foremost great
stories - but which also have a strong redemptive theme.
They also produce original dramas - such as The Father
Gilbert Mysteries - to explore similar ideas in a more
contemporary setting. They have been awarded the George
Foster Peabody Award for their production of Bonhoeffer:
TheCost of Freedom. They have also been the recipient
of the Audie award (The Silver Chair), The Parent's
Choice award (The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe),
the Covenant award, numerous Earphone awards, and more.
Radio Theatre is heard weekly on almost 250 radio stations
nationwide. They have used the talents of England's
finest actors, including Academy Award Winners Paul
Scofield and Ron Moody, as well as Joan Plowwright,
David Suchet, Brian Blessed, Martin Jarvis, Edward Woodward,
Timothy West, Jenny Agutter, Alex Jennings, Gemma Jones
and many, many others.
